“UPCOMING 100” Q&A

  1. How long have you been in the music industry and has music always been a part of your life?

I have been in the music industry for 10 years or better and really focusing on my artist career for about the last 5 of them. My family has been in the industry for 30 years plus, so it has been a part of my life for a very long time

  1. Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I want to do”?

Once my writing was published and people really connected with the words in my books, I then knew it was time to transform words to music.

  1. What inspires you (or your music)?

Hearing feel good music in party form, really inspires me. Seeing people connect with my sound also inspires me.

  1. Who’s on your iTunes playlist?

  1. The project you are currently promoting, how did the idea for it come about?

I was in the club. Most music i was hearing sounded similar to each other. I wanted to make a change. I wanted people to get excited hearing new music.  I then attended a EDM concert. i felt like...tying in Rap and EDM would be the ultimate combination. So then i got in the music studio and we came up with the album "Momentum"- With the hot new song getting new attention called "SLIDE-OUT"

  1. There are thousands of artists trying to do what you are doing, what do you think gives you an advantage to break into mainstream America?

My Sound - My unique name. Me being a published author really sets me apart from most of our artist today.

  1. I’ve heard your latest music and it’s amazing! I can definitely tell your sound has evolved over the past few years from previous songs we’ve heard from you online. What are your thoughts on the evolution of an artist and the evolution of music today?

Artists are now able to make their own destiny. It’s an open world now with marketing and independent music. Artists are growing now and finding ways to be heard other than through a record label

  1. Do you have other passions in life? Do you believe passion is an essential part of success?

Passion differentiates from individual to individual. It is almost impossible to concur anything without a little passion behind it... yes it is definitely essential for success

  1. With your current success and working with a renowned PR firm such as Starlight PR, What advice would you give to someone just starting out in his or her career who doesn't even have a studio to record but would love to do what you are doing now?

Keep writing… Keep working toward your dream. Use social media to help get the word about what you are looking to do. Create awareness for anything you want to do because you never know who is looking at you. Some things cost money, but most things that cost money can be done on your own with a little knowledge and grind ...Hold a couple gauge sales to make money- cut grass-clean cars-do maintenance... Make enough money to get a small home studio, and continue the grind...last!! NEVER GIVE UP!!
