Exclusive Interview with B. Roy

An exclusive interview with B. Roy

Upcoming 100: How long have you been in the music industry and has music always been a part of your life?

B. Roy: I jumped in head first 2018 this year at the beginning of the year in February. Music has definitely always been and always will be a part of my life same as it is for most of the world I would say.

Upcoming 100: Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I want to do”?

B. Roy: I always wanted it to serve as a source of income and become a profession for me but not up until recently did I actually come out of my shell and go for it. The passing of my baby cousin put everything into perspective.

Upcoming 100: What inspires you (or your music)?

B. Roy: Life inspires me and my music… things in my life and things happening in the world.

Upcoming 100: Who’s on your iTunes playlist?

B. Roy: I really don’t have one to be honest.

Upcoming 100: The project you are currently promoting, how did the idea for it come about?

B. Roy: It was a prep to build momentum for my up and coming LP, Classified G.

Upcoming 100: There are thousands of artists trying to do what you are doing, what do you think gives you an advantage to break into mainstream America?

B. Roy: Most likely my drive because I ain’t gonna stop until I get noticed and recognition. Plus I have the creativity and talent to go with it.

Upcoming 100: I’ve heard your latest music and it’s amazing! I can definitely tell your sound has evolved over the past few years from previous songs we’ve heard from you online. What are your thoughts on the evolution of an artist and the evolution of music today?

B. Roy: Music time and culture are forever evolving, while at the same time still repeating itself as well. I won’t get into detail but naturally there are things you’re gonna like and approve and things you’re gonna dislike and disapprove.

Upcoming 100: Do you have other passions in life? Do you believe passion is an essential part of success?

B. Roy: Yes passion and having something to believe in. My ultimate passion is to spread love and positivity through music and influence. The ultimate passion is that and of course taking care of family and providing direction.

Upcoming 100: With your current success and working with a renowned PR firm such as Starlight PR, What advice would you give to someone just starting out in his or her career who doesn't even have a studio to record but would love to do what you are doing now?

B. Roy: Push, push, push, I’ve made a lot of mistakes so far. Just research and don’t spend your hard earn money on things that in the long run will not benefit you at all.

Upcoming 100: Where can potential fans find out more about you?

B. Roy: I would say all my social media platforms and my music which is available on all music related platforms.
