Upcoming 100: How long have you been in the music industry and has music always been a part of your life?
Mr. Mince: Absolutely. Started writing music at 9 years Old. I joined with a Local group Called 80proof Later in 1998. Then I reconnected with music in 2003 At the university of Florida with the group TriggaState Trendsetters Featuring Former Bad Boy/ Revolt employee Aubrey Fly (Breezilino) (J.Dash) (Hankadon) (Jit) (E Money) TCoop)And Many More. First In Florida with a Mixtape Hosted by Dj Drama/Don Cannon at the time. We Moved Units and definitely made some noise in Florida.
Upcoming 100: Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I want to do”?
Mr. Mince: When Camouflage Opened for Juvenile in 99 in Savannah GA. Very Inspirational. But my 3 main inspirations... My Cousin FatBoi (Platinum Producer) got a deal from Universal/PurePain Records working with Savannah Georgia Native Camouflage. He was definitely an inspiration where I’m from... Then My Roommate ( J.Dash -WOP 2009) from The university Of Florida. He Sold Millions before my Eyes... I knew at that moment anything was possible. Most importantly, Tupac because he Died Trying to Move those who came after. The Realist Period.
Upcoming 100: What inspires you (or your music)?
Mr. Mince: My Life trials and tribulations, 2pac , Camouflage, Biggie ,KRS 1, Scarface, Nas, Jay Z, K-Rino, Trick Daddy, UGK , j-Cole, Kendrick, OutKast... And Many of the greats. The ones who Could make you dance and still get the message across.

Mr. Mince: Everyone. I Study all Artist. But I’m currently Bumping K-Rino a little more than others. The Knowledge And Talent this Guy has is unparalleled.
Upcoming 100: The project you are currently promoting, how did the idea for it come about?
Mr. Mince: Well, My New Album is Called Well Rounded. I named it that because I’m the typical black from the Ghetto. From Racism,Drugs, Alternative Schools, And Arrest... to somehow managing to defy all Odds thrown my way.I Graduated High School, College, And had a Successful professional career with out making excuses. The NFL was a great platform to plant seeds into my music Career and Kill two birds with one stone.
Upcoming 100: There are thousands of artists trying to do what you are doing, what do you think gives you an advantage to break into mainstream America?
Mr. Mince: To change the Narrative Of What’s Real. Because the World is Filled with this false Success. Success to me is how you feel when you Set Personal goals and accomplish them out of good will. So far I’ve accomplished them all other than owning a successful music Label and Making Hits. If I can move or motivate 1 Soul. I’m doing my Job. A Job That I Love! (True Success)
Upcoming 100: I’ve heard your latest music and it’s amazing! I can definitely tell your sound has evolved over the past few years from previous songs we’ve heard from you online. What are your thoughts on the evolution of an artist and the evolution of music today?
Mr. Mince: Life is all about evolution. The key is staying true to yourself during the process. It is definitely a must In order to stay relevant in today’s music industry.
Upcoming 100: Do you have other passions in life? Do you believe passion is an essential part of success?
Mr. Mince: I really wouldn’t mind traveling the World as a Motivational Speaker. But Passion is definitely Key. Nothings real without it, It got me through 10 NFL Seasons... And it will do the same for me in this industry. The Industry definitely needs more balance.
Upcoming 100: With your current success and working with a renowned PR firm such as Starlight PR, What advice would you give to someone just starting out in his or her career who doesn't even have a studio to record but would love to do what you are doing now?
Mr. Mince: Take your Time and make everything Solid as you can. Relationships, Knowledge, and know how. As far as Starlight... definitely the way to go... they are on Point! Very patient, and delivers like no other.
