Upcoming 100: How long have you been in the music industry and has music always been a part of your life?
Hitha: I’m 13 now. I started my music with India Classical singing when I was 4. Indian classical singing helped me with many vocal/technical attributes and I have realized that music is my passion. Basically, it gave me foundation to build my music future on. ​
Upcoming 100: Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I want to do”?
Hitha: There was a time in my life where I was always hustling to different classes everyday but at one point I stopped and looked at my schedule. I realized most of my days were booked with singing lessons. That’s when I realized I was interested in music the most.
Upcoming 100: What inspires you (or your music)?
Hitha: My main source of inspiration is everyday life. I try to take problems from everywhere to make my songs relatable, so everyone can connect with them.

Upcoming 100: The project you are currently promoting, how did the idea for it come about?
Hitha: I was overwhelmed with too many chores, activities, and external pressures causing self-doubt. One day I’ve realized that I just need to let go everything, be positive and just pursue my true passion, which is singing. My debut original “Standing Up With Pride” lyrics represent my own experience. I hope this song creates positive vibes and I want to tell anyone who listens this song that they can always count on their passion. Never give up.
Upcoming 100: There are thousands of artists trying to do what you are doing, what do you think gives you an advantage to break into mainstream America?
Hitha: I believe my passion, heritage/background and my approach towards music are going to make my music unique, fresh and relatable. This is what is going to take me and my music to mainstream America.
Upcoming 100: I’ve heard your latest music and it’s amazing! I can definitely tell your sound has evolved over the past few years from previous songs we’ve heard from you online. What are your thoughts on the evolution of an artist and the evolution of music today?
Hitha: I’m happy to know that you have noticed it. I believe in hard work, innovation and open to learn new things. I learn from everyone. I’m sure I will end up using lot of world music arrangements in my songs. I think we can produce better music if we can introduce the richness of world music to my generation.
Upcoming 100: Do you have other passions in life? Do you believe passion is an essential part of success?
Hitha: Education and Singing are my priority. I also really like sports and dancing. Passion & grit are super important, and I really believe these two can change our lives. Money and Success are by-products of being passionate and being good in what you do.
Upcoming 100: With your current success and working with a renowned PR firm such as Starlight PR, What advice would you give to someone just starting out in his or her career who doesn't even have a studio to record but would love to do what you are doing now?
Hitha: Be ready to go wherever your passion takes you. Just remember that the path of pursuing passion will be difficult because there are always going to be many failures, twists and turns. “Stand up with pride” for your passion. Be strong and never give up.
