Exclusive Interview with K-Rob The Singer

An exclusive interview with K-Rob The Singer.

Upcoming 100: How long have you been in the music industry and has music always been a part of your life?

K- Rob The Singer: 10 years in the industry but it has always been a part of my life.

Upcoming 100: Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “music is what I want to do”?

K- Rob The Singer: Yes. When I was younger, I was watching an award show and it was enough to motivate me.

Upcoming 100: What inspires you (or your music)?

K- Rob The Singer: Everyday life inspires me. I feel it’s a blessing to be alive and being able to do all the things you love to do. Every day we wake up, we have a chance to be creative.

Upcoming 100: Who’s on your iTunes playlist?

K- Rob The Singer: “Babyface” Edmonds & Sade any many others.

Upcoming 100: The project you are currently promoting, how did the idea for it come about?

K- Rob The Singer: It is inspired by a day in Los Angeles, California. There are some people who live the Six Figure Lifestyle and I just wrote about that particular topic in my own words.

Upcoming 100: There are thousands of artists trying to do what you are doing, what do you think gives you an advantage to break into mainstream America?

K- Rob The Singer: I would say one of my advantages would be that I was the first artist to chart on the Billboard’s top 100 charts with major artists. I was underground then, but I sold so many physical records and was the top seller in my region. It’s never been done before until I accomplished it.

Upcoming 100:  I’ve heard your latest music and it’s amazing! I can definitely tell your sound has evolved over the past few years from previous songs we’ve heard from you online. What are your thoughts on the evolution of an artist and the evolution of music today?

K- Rob The Singer: Thanks for the compliment. The music industry is always changing. I believe it’s up to the artists to keep up with the times, the changes that are to come.

Upcoming 100: Do you have other passions in life? Do you believe passion is an essential part of success?

K- Rob The Singer: Yes. I’m getting into filmmaking, producing. Yes you have to believe in whatever it is that you want to accomplish and have passion.

Upcoming 100: With your current success and working with a renowned PR firm such as Starlight PR, what advice would you give to someone just starting out in his or her career who doesn't even have a studio to record but would love to do what you are doing now?

K- Rob The Singer: If you don’t have a studio to record in, have Starlight get in touch with me and we’ll get your music recorded and radio ready. Or you could just look for a good or great local studio in your area.

Upcoming 100: Where can potential fans find out more about you?
