Foo Fighters earn their seventh No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songsairplay chart, as "Run" rises 2-1 on the list dated July 29.
The band's first single with producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, P!nk, Sia), and the lead track from Concrete and Gold, (due Sept. 15), is its first Mainstream Rock Songs No. 1 in more than two years, since "Congregation" ruled for three weeks beginning in April 2015. The Dave Grohl-led act first topped the chart in 2005 with "Best of You."
Meanwhile, "Run" holds at its No. 10 peak on the Alternative Songs airplay chart, where it's the Foo Fighters' 23rd top 10. When it reached the region two weeks ago, the group tied U2 for the second-best total in the chart's 29-year history, after only Red Hot Chili Peppers' 25 top 10s. On the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, "Run" stays its No. 3 high with 10 million audience impressions in the week ending July 16, according to Nielsen Music.
Concrete and Gold, Foo Fighters' ninth studio album, is the group's first as a six-piece following the addition of keyboardist Rami Jaffee as a full-time member. The band's previous full-length, 2014's Sonic Highways, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 190,000 copies sold in its first week.
