Kesha Overcomes Tears to Deliver Emotional 'Woman' Performance

Kesha warned fans she hadn't practiced her new song "Woman" before debuting it live with some help from the Creepies at a concert in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Thursday night (July 20).

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

"This could sound really, really bad," she said. "But we're gonna probably do it."

But before they launched into the empowering soul-pop anthem from Kesha's upcoming Rainbow album (out on Aug. 11), the singer -- apparently overcome with emotion to be performing new music for her fans -- had to step aside to pull herself together.

"I just wanna say thank you, guys," she told the crowd before taking a moment to dry the tears from her eyes with a towel.

The audience offered some support by chanting Kesha's name, and then the song began with a defiant proclamation: "I'm a motherf---ing woman!"

Watch her performance of "Woman" below. The singer is set to appear in Aurora, Ill., Friday night and Lawrenceburg, Ind., on Saturday, before heading to Japan for the Summer Sonic Festival.
