The collection, which consists of athletic hip-hop and basketball pieces, ranges in price from $70 to $160 and will be made available on M.I.A.'s e-commerce sitestarting Wednesday.
The collaboration between M.I.A. and Andersen has been a long time coming. "I've been a fan of M.I.A. for a long time," the Danish designer told Vogue. "She was the benchmark for cool women who would wear my new collection -- so when she called me, I was mega-excited.”
The collection is sustainable, featuring an anorak made from 100 percent recycled plastic. The anorak was made in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an organization that has worked with other high-end designers such as Stella McCartney.
In explaining what drew her to Andersen's work, M.I.A. tells Vogue, “It all very much suits my personal style because it’s utilitarian -- you can wear it to a club because everything is light.”
