Shawn Mendes Teams Up With Red Cross For Mexico Earthquake Relief Campaign

Shawn Mendes announced today (Sept. 22) that he’s teaming up with Red Cross to raise funds and awareness for those affected by the recent catastrophic earthquake in Mexico, causing the deaths of over 200, with additional hundreds left injured and without homes.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Mendes was in Mexico City during the earthquake while on tour. After witnessing the destruction firsthand, he decided to get involved.

“After seeing the impact of the damage firsthand in Mexico, I wanted to find any way I could to raise funds,” said Mendes in a press release. “So we reached out to the Red Cross and partnered with them to setup a way to help those affected by the earthquake.”

This campaign will raise funds on CrowdRise, a crowdsourcing site that’s part of GoFundMe. Mendes and his manangement company AG Artists already donated $100,000, and are counting on fans to help out further. You can attribute your own donation here.
