Gucci Mane Vows to Be '100 Percent Independent' and Release a New Mixtape Every Other Day in 2018

As if Gucci Mane hasn't already entrenched himself as a prolific figure in hip-hop, in 2018 Guwop plans to turn the dial up and increase his releases exponentially.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

On Friday (Sept. 22), Gucci went on Twitter and revealed his intentions to release a mixtape every other day next year. In addition, he also vowed to take control of his own destiny and become an independent artist.

"2018 I'm going 100 percent independent and dropping a mixtape every other day #MrDavisTheAlbum," he tweeted out. Last week, it was announced that Gucci's Mr. Davis album was delayed and would be released next month.

Despite the minor hiccup, Gucci successfully released his autobiography earlier this week. The Autobiography of Gucci Mane highlights his ascension in hip-hop, while also diving deep into his legal woes.

In 2016, Gucci set hip-hop ablaze with his fiery run, which consisted of two studio albums including Everybody Looking and The Return of East Atlanta Santa. During his torrid stretch, he has become a popular name to snag in the pop world as he joined forces with Selena Gomez for "Fetish" and Fifth Harmony for "Down."
