Apple has announced that it is pledging $1 million to bring relief to the wildfires tearing across Southern California.
The company is also rolling out donation pages on its App Store, iTunes Movies, iTunes TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and iBooks pages for Apple customers who wish to support wildfire relief efforts themselves, a spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
"Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fires in Southern California, including our colleagues, friends and their families. Apple is donating $1 million to aid in the rebuilding and recovery efforts of the communities that have been impacted," read Apple's statement Tuesday.
This is only the latest effort the tech giant has made to help wildfire relief efforts in California: In October, the tech company donated $1 million, as well as matched employee donations two-for-one, to support efforts to extinguish Northern California wildfires.
And it's not the only company reaching out to support the state. On Tuesday the air carrier JetSuiteX announced that it was donating a percentage of every ticket sold that day to the American Red Cross to support wildfire-relief efforts in Southern California.
The Thomas Fire has now become the fifth biggest wildfire in California history. The Associated Press reports that it has so far destroyed 680 homes; meanwhile, tens of thousands have evacuated coastal and inland towns in its path, including Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria and Fillmore.
