Watch Adrienne Houghton Perform 'The Gift' From New Christmas Album on 'The Real'

The artist, formerly Adrienne Bailon, is donating proceeds from her "New Tradiciones" project to Puerto Rico recovery.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Two years ago, viewers watched as Adrienne Bailon (now Adrienne Houghton) got emotional during a segment of The Real while revealing why she stopped singing. "I'm scared to fail, I don't like the sound of my own voice,”Bailon said while tearing up.

The former 3LW member and Cheetah Girl has talked about recording a solo album for some years now, but she feared her voice and her music would not be accepted. “What if people don’t like it? What if it’s not successful?” she said at the time. “I almost have been saying I would rather it not come out and just say, well, it never came out, than for it to come out and be wack.”

Fear no more: The songstress returned with a Christmas album, New Tradiciones("New Traditions"), last month, and last week, she even performed a song from the project on The Real. “I wanted to do an album that felt like my Christmas's growing up & celebrating our Latin culture," Adrienne wrote in an Instagram post last month. "I want my future children & the next generation to never forget their roots!”

All proceeds from the album go toward rebuilding Puerto Rico after the devastating Hurricane Irma destroyed over 50 percent of the island. “It’s important that we keep awareness because we hear about it for a little bit in the news and then it goes away and we forget that these people don’t have drinking water, no power, no ac.”
