Donning black jeans and an olive-green crew neck sweater, JB puts his own spin on the '80s hit for "When Thugs Cry," with new verses accompanied by the Purple Rain artist's legendary hook.
The 22-year-old artist, who shrewdly flipped Prince's original title into his own, paid a visit to Australian radio station Triple J to perform the song as part of their weekly "Like a Version" series Thursday. The alternate version was assisted by a live band, which injected a fresh sonic.
Joey also performed a live version of "Temptation," which is a standout track from his sophomore album, All-Amerikkkan Badass. Joey Bada$$ officially became a platinum-selling rapper, with "Devastated" notching the Pro Era co-founder his first plaque, according to the RIAA.
