Nick Cannon Covers SZA, Kehlani & H.E.R. on 'Singing With Dream Girls' EP: Exclusive

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Nick Cannon wants a few special ladies to know he thinks they've really got it going on.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

The Wild N Out host is paying his respects to some of the sickest voices in modern R&B and putting a little bit of his signature style on the hits as well. His new three-song EP Singing With Dream Girls is like a side hook for his latest single "Dream Girl," but here, he tries his hand at his favorite tunes from SZAKehlani and H.E.R., and we have to say, he makes these songs sound pretty good too.

“I’m so excited about the buzz generated by my new single 'Dream Girl' that I thought it would be dope to cover a few of my favorite songs by ladies that I am currently inspired by," Cannon says in an emailed statement. "Two of them being ladies that I have mentored, Kehlani and H.E.R.”

They're not really remixes, just straight-up covers, so you don't have to worry about any cheesy drops ruining the mood. He's just serving it up silky and sensual on reworks of "Weekend," "In My Feelings" and "FACTS," respectively. It's a cool way to give it up to your inspirations while also kinda promoting your own jams.

If you like the sound of these tunes, keep your ears open for Cannon's new album Model Music dropping in the spring. For now, listen to his covers on Singing With Dream Girls below, and check the original "Dream Girl" as well.
