Kaskade & Charlotte Lawrence Make Break Ups Beautiful on 'Cold As Stone': Listen

You know when the love is gone and you're just hanging around the relationship out of convenience?

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

It's an icky situation, and it's not all that respectful of the other person and their feelings. It's best to bow out, but finding the right words can be difficult -- so we suggest letting Kaskade's "Cold as Stone" do the talking.

The single features some upfront lyrics from Charlotte Lawrence. She spells it out pretty plainly: She just doesn't love you like she used to. It would hurt to hear, if Kaskade's chords weren't so damn beautiful. It's the break-up message you want to listen to again and again.

"’Cold as Stone’ presented itself as a sort of departure from the songs I’ve put out in the last while," Kaskade says in a press release. "It didn’t end up being that forever-love message we’d all love to hear. Instead, it’s an emotional reckoning from a pretty vulnerable place. Charlotte Lawrence’s voice was that perfect storm of beauty, anger and quiet strength which is a rare find. It helped paint that audio picture of falling out of love, which is painful. Even though the song is called ‘Cold as Stone,’ it will probably make quite a few people feel exactly the opposite.”

"Cold As Stone" is out everywhere on Sony. Jam to its emotional honesty below.
