Jim Jones made a bold return to music on Friday (April 13) with his highly anticipated seventh studio album, Wasted Talent.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

The project clocks in at 55 minutes, as CAPO finds himself at his most introspective, sharing plenty of gems pulling from what he's learned throughout his enduring life's journey, from the Harlem streets to rap icon.

The LP finds the Roc Nation artist tapping a range of musicians on the effort. Jim links with Dipset members Juelz Santana and Cam'ron on separate bonus tracks, but also connects with the new school of artists, including Lil Durk and singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger. Other features on the album include JadakissMozzyYFN LucciYo Gotti and Trav, among others.

Jimmy's main inspirations behind Wasted Talent came from a pair of classic films: '90s street-inspired New Jack City and Robert De Niro's A Bronx Tale (the album's introduction samples scenes from the 1993 movie-turned-Broadway show, as do "Head Off," and "Chicken Fried Rice").

During a recent visit to the Billboard offices, the 41-year-old detailed instances ofWasted Talent he's witnessed with his own eyes. He first mentions Killa Cam giving up on his hoop dreams, but luckily going on to become a legendary MC. On the flip side, Jones spoke about a friend who sold drugs to pay his way through graduate school and parlayed that into becoming a lawyer.
