The group is reportedly going on a reunion tour, BET reports.
According to the latest report, the exciting news was confirmed by their management teams. It is unclear how many cities they will visit or the duration of the tour however. “We all have grown so much and we felt like the timing was right!” a statement from the ladies reads. “And we really missed each other performing on stage together.”
The group consists of Kameelah Williams and Irish Grinstead, and LeMisha Fields. They joined forces in the late 1990s, releasing hits like “Where My Girls At?” “Steelo,” “Get It Together,” and “All I Want.” Many of those singles went on to be certified gold, along with their self-titled album. After the release of their third album, Star, the group broke up. They later reunited on stage at the 2017 Soul Train Awards.
Speaking of girl groups, 702 isn’t the only team to make a comeback. Destiny’s Child – Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams – also reunited on stage at weekend one of the 2018 Coachella Music Festival.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding 702’s tour dates and ticket sales.
