Jordan Peele Reportedly 'Flirting With the Idea' of 'Get Out 2'

Film producer Jason Blum says he wouldn’t hesitate to work on Get Out part two.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

But on one condition: Jordan Peele has to be attached to the project.

Blum spoke about the potential sequel during a recent interview with Variety, insisting he would jump at the chance to continue the Get Out story.

“If Jordan wants to do a sequel, I’ll do it in a second,” he told the publication, “but it has to come from Jordan Peele. I think he’s flirting with the idea.”

This is reassuring news for fans of the 2017 horror about a black man who discovers a community’s twisted secret while visiting his white girlfriend’s parents for the first time. The film received widespread acclaim for its satirical critique of racism in America, and went to earn Peele an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The film was also nominated for Best Director (Peele), Best Actor (Daniel Kaluuya), and Best Picture.

Considering the film’s historic success, many fans are convinced a Get Out sequel is inevitable. Though he hasn't confirmed a second installment, Peele says he has put some serious thought into it.

“I can tell you I will definitely, seriously consider it,” he revealed back in February. “I love that universe and I feel like there is more story to tell. I don’t know what it is now, but there are some loose ends.”
