G-Eazy Says He Was Working on Music With Halsey Days Before They Broke Up

G-Eazy has barely had time to breathe so far this year, and with an extensive North American tour kicking off later this month, his busy schedule seems unlikely to change anytime soon.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Unfortunately for G-Eazy, his non-stop schedule includes dealing with a break-up with Halsey, who he was dating for around a year until earlier this week (July 4). Now, however, Billboard has revealed that the former couple were working on music together just days before the split.

Speaking about his upcoming North American tour, which will see him accompanied by Lil Uzi Vert and Ty Dolla Sign among others, G-Eazy mentioned how he had been working on music with Halsey. The interview was conducted prior to the news of the split, with him explaining at the time, "We were just in the studio the other night and we made a couple records."

Speaking about the work they made together, he said, "She’s one of the most talented people in music. I tell her this all the time like there’s only like six of you on the planet that are this good. And she’s really rare! It’s just dope. I told you how much I love collaborating but when you get to collaborate with the person you’re in love with and share this experience of making a song and performing a song."

It seems unlikely the songs will surface following their split, however, with fans noticing that Halsey had deleted all pictures of G-Eazy from her Instagram. During the interview, he did tease what the collaborations they worked on sound like, though, saying, "It’s a vibe. Me and her are storytellers and when we write, it’s really like painting a picture and characters… the mood. It’s definitely that."

"G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart," Halsey wrote on her Instagram earlier this week. "I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time."
