Alejandro Fernandez & Los Tigres Del Norte Join Dream Big Nevada Organization for Dreamers as Part of their Breaking Borders U.S. Tour

The campaign will feature personal Dreamers stories, many who have been separated from their families.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Alejandro Fernandez and Los Tigres del Norte have joined Dream Big Nevada in providing Dreamers an opportunity to be heard when the two celebrated acts work together in their upcoming Breaking Borders U.S. tour, launching in August.

The tour's Aug. 23 opener in Newark, N.J. will follow Miami on Aug. 25 as part of a 17-city run through the end of the year. Dreamers will be provided seats to shows and they will be sharing their experiences.

Dreamers arrived to the U.S. without the required paperwork, assimilated here and have been educated by schools in the U.S. Their stories will live on social media and will be part of a larger conversation that will unfold in a variety of ways throughout the tour.

Fernandez and Los Tigres del Norte issued a joint statement:

“We are very proud and excited to inform you that for the #RompiendoFronteras tour we will be working hand in hand with the Dream Big Nevada organization to support the #DREAMers and bring this important message to our entire audience. We will have a special section for #DREAMers in each of the tour cities so they can enjoy our concerts."

Before the tour begins, stories will be shared. Supporters can use the hashtag #RompiendoFronteras (#BreakingBorders). Dreamers can request tickets to the tour at Dreambignv.org on the #RompiendoFronteras tab. A series of questions will be asked, including age and year of arrival in the U.S. and country of origin.

Dream Big Nevada was founded by Astrid Silva in 2017 to support immigrant families in Nevada through direct services and by empowering communities to advocate. Silva is a Dreamer and a recognized social justice leader. She arrived to the U.S. with her parents when she was four years old and has earned several degrees from the College of Southern Nevada and Nevada State College.

The tour is being produced by CMN Events. See a message from Silva here:
