Juice WRLD Makes 2018 VMAs Debut With 'Lucid Dreams' Performance

Juice WRLD had everyone thinking about "Lucid Dreams" with his debut performance at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday night (Aug. 20).

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

The rapper's melancholic single brought a somber atmosphere to the show as he sung on the ceremony's Push Artist stage with a live backing band.

Wearing an all-black outfit that included combat boots and a Givenchy Rottweiler printed sweatshirt, the 19-year-old resembled the quintessential American emo teen who are frustrated with the world. While he may not have gotten the opportunity to perform "Lucid Dreams" in its entirety, Juice WRLD gave the audience a glimpse of his rising star power.

Juice WRLD's "Lucid Dreams," which was nominated for song of the summer at the VMAs tonight, officially became his first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 back in June.
