Black Eyed Peas Drop "Big Love," Announce First Album in Nearly Eight Years

The Black Eyed Peas are back—well, at least three of them are.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

On Wednesday, the group released a politically charged song called “Big Love.”

“Big Love” tackles everything from gun violence and police brutality to race relations and the effects of social media. But make no mistake, the Black Eyed Peas haven’t adopted a pessimistic view; the track offers an uplifting message about the importance of love, especially in times of uncertainty.

The track was released as part of a voter registration campaign, and will also support organizations dedicated to gun and immigration reform. Proceeds from “Big Love” will go toward March for Our Lives as well as Families Belong Together.

You can stream the new single now on all major streaming services, including Apple Music/iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal.

“Big Love” will appear on the Black Eyed Peas’ upcoming album Masters of the Sun. The effort will drop Oct. 12, nearly eight years after they dropped their last full-length project, The Beginning. Not too long back, the group dropped off the tracks "Ring the Alarm" and "CONSTANT Pt. 1 & 2" featuring Slick Rick.

Will.i.am spoke to Complex about the group's long-awaited album earlier this year, revealing it would focus on their philanthropic efforts.

“We have a different laboratory on this one, and audio scientists and activists, philanthropists, and all this music that we’re doing right now reflects that side, the philanthropy side of who we are as people and the independent route in a way,” he said. “So ap will speak on the school that he got in the Philippines, he got a bunch of schools in the Philippines. I got an after school program here in East Los Angeles, where we teach our kids science, technology. And Taboo is with the Native community and the American Cancer Society, just trying to address the issues and add to the community.”
