According to The New Yorker, the offices of several Democratic senators have learned of the new allegation from 53-year-old Deborah Ramirez and at least two of them are investigating the claims. In The New Yorker’s story, Ramirez claims that Kavanaugh exposed himself directly in front of her face and then forced her to touch it while they were both attending a party at Yale.
Ramirez said that the incident happened while both she and Kavanaugh were freshmen. She told the magazine that she went to a party in a dorm room where she played a drinking game and quickly became inebriated. That was when she claims Kavanaugh exposed himself.
“I remember a penis being in front of my face,” she told the magazine. “I knew that’s not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.”
Ramirez said that when she went to push the person away, she accidentally touched his penis.
“I wasn’t going to touch a penis until I was married,” she said. “I was embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated.”
She said that she remembers Kavanaugh laughing and pulling up his pants.
“I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants,” she said, adding that the people at the party began to shout down the hall that Ramirez had touched Kavanaugh’s penis.
“It was his full name. I don’t think it was just ‘Brett.’ And I remember hearing and being mortified that this was out there,” she said.
Kavanaugh has already issued a statement, calling the publication of the story a “smear."
“This alleged event from 35 years ago did not happen. The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so. This is a smear, plain and simple. I look forward to testifying on Thursday about the truth, and defending my good name—and the reputation for character and integrity I have spent a lifetime building—against these last-minute allegations,” he wrote.
White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec told the magazine that the Trump Administration is still behind their nominee.
“This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man,” she said.
Several classmates of Ramirez and Kavanaugh’s including a few who she alleged were at the party and involved in the incident, released a statement saying that they don’t believe the incident ever occurred and that it would be “ completely out of character for Brett.”
Ramirez’s allegations come just a week after California professor Christine Blasey Ford claimed that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while they were both in high school.
