Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear are making sure that Kurt Cobain's legacy won't be fading anytime soon.

The surviving Nirvana members reunited yet again with Joan Jett and Deer Tick's John McCauley for a six-song encore set to close out Cal Jam 18 Saturday (Oct. 6) at Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif.

This year's Cal Jam was headlined by the Foo Fighters, along with appearances by Tenacious D, Garbage, Silversun Pickups, Manchester Orchestra, Novoselic's new band Giants in the Trees, a reunion of Iggy Pop with Post Pop Depression, and more.

For the festival's encore, Jett handled lead vocals for Nirvana's "Breed," "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "All Apologies," while McCauley took on "Serve the Servants," "Scentless Apprentice" and "In Bloom." Jett and McCauley previously performed with the surviving Nirvana members when the grunge band was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2014.

"I just wanna hear a big cheer for somebody. I wanna hear a big cheer for Kurt Cobain,” Novoselic told the crowd prior to "All Apologies."

Grohl, Smear and Novoselic most recently reunited in September to perform Nirvana’s rendition of the Vaselines’ “Molly’s Lips” during a Foo Fighters concert in Seattle.
