Katt Williams Dodges Georgia Charge, Still Faces Jail Time for Alleged Oregon Assault

Katt Williams is back out of jail. Williams spent the weekend in behind bars after allegedly assaulting a driver.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

The length of his stay was uncertain after the police who booked him in Portland found that he had an outstanding warrant in Georgia for missing a court date. However, TMZ reports that Williams has dodged extradition after authorities in Georgia decided to drop the charge.

Apparently, Williams was meant to be in court in Atlanta on the day of the Emmys. He said that his management didn't notify him of the date and he attended the ceremony instead, picking up an award for his performance on the last season of Atlanta.

Williams will still have another court date for his Oregonian charge, which stems from an arrest following an altercation with a hired driver. Reports claim that Williams was on his way to a touring performance of Wild N' Out when the driver and Williams got into an argument about the transportation of his dog. The driver sustained minor injuries to his face in the ensuing scuffle and Williams fled in another car. He was picked up by police the next morning.

OregonLive.com reports that Williams pled not guilty to fourth-degree assault. His next court date is Nov. 16.
