Gugudan Says They're 'Not That Type' in Fierce New Music Video: Watch

K-pop girl group Gugudan returned on Tuesday with the release of their dynamic new single “Not That Type.”

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

A pulsating dance track that plays up the act's fierce, powerful vocals, the song radiates with energy and charisma as the eight members of Gugudan sing over the pulsating, brassy percussion and roaring synths. “Not That Type” is Gugudan’s first single since the group became an octet following the October departure of Hyeyeon from the act.

Gugudan has a distinctly creative approach to K-pop, as they reinvent themselves conceptually with each release, drawing on different genres and thematic concepts. According to the description on the YouTube page for "Not That Type," their latest release is inspired by Ocean's 8 as the aim is to show off how the eight women each have different strengths and charms but work well together.

In the music video, the members stare down the camera while declaring their dominance and perform the stomp-infused choreography while wearing stylish athleisure looks.

"Not That Type" fronts the group's Act. 5 New Action EP; member Sejung wrote lyrics for the sweet pop ballad "Dear." It is the group’s first single since February's "The Boots."
