Jackson Wang Makes Strong Social 50 Chart Debut

With a U.S. stadium tour and a slew of new chart records, 2018 was a huge year for GOT7.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

And now member Jackson Wang reaches a new milestone all his own.

Jackson enters Billboard's Social 50 chart starting at No. 33 -- the highest new entry among the three artists also making their debut this week. The majority of his Social 50 points came from Twitter reactions -- via his newly created @JacksonWang825 account, which launched in August and helped his start.

The Hong Kong–born star also re-enters the Emerging Artists chart at No. 42 this week. He previously spent one week on Emerging Artists, hitting No. 14. The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50.

The surge in activity for the singer-rapper-producer is undoubtedly linked to his newly released collaboration with Gucci Mane, "Different Game." The track, which reached the upper echelons of the U.S. iTunes charts upon release, has earned more than four million views since its Nov. 6 premiere. Meanwhile, the one tweet Jackson shared for the video boasts more than 28,000 retweets and 53,000 likes to date.

Despite there being just a handful of songs released to his name in America, the 24-year-old's solo catalog earned 406,000 on-demand U.S. streams in the tracking week ending Nov. 8, according to Nielsen Music, a 72 percent gain from the week prior. His solo material also logged 3,000 digital downloads, a 1,000 percent increase from the week before.

With Jackson's latest release along with new music coming from GOT7 via an upcoming repackage of their Present : You album, don't expect him or his band mates to be leaving the charts anytime soon. In the meantime, check out another moment that's kept Jackson in viral circles -- his remix of Blackstreet's Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit "No Diggity" from a recent performance in China:
