Jada Pinkett Smith’s Mom Had a Hard Time with Her Daughter Dating a White Man

Jada Pinkett Smith’s mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, recently sat down on the Red Table Talk series to admit that she wasn’t into Jada’s former boyfriend John.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

She said the reason for this was because he’s white. “It’s really difficult for me because we have white people in our family,” Adrienne told Jada and Willow Smith.

“I repeated what Mommy told me, was that you have to learn to get along with white people, but don’t ever bring them home,” she said. Adrienne said she never gave herself the “opportunity to even like John.”

She went on to mention how her nephew married a white woman and it took her a while to adjust.

“Jason is married to a white woman … She will tell you we gave her a hard time because we didn’t welcome her with open arms and she really had to prove herself. I feel bad about that.” She said.
