New England Patriots’ Owner Robert Kraft Would Love to See Colin Kaepernick Back in the NFL

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is well respected around the NFL.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Kraft is a progressive owner and his latest topic of discussion might not be what his fellow NFL owners will want to hear. Kraft believes there is room in the league For Colin Kaepernick.

“Let me say this: I would very much like to see [Kaepernick] in the league,”  Kraft told the Times. However, when they pressed him about an unconfirmed report in September that the Patriots had discussed a backup role for Kaepernick, he called it a “rumor” that came from a lawyer working with Kaepernick. When the paper asked if the report was untrue, they wrote, “he paused for three seconds. ‘I’m done talking about it,’ he said finally. (Mr. Kaepernick and his lawyer, Mark Geragos, did not respond to requests for comment.)”

Kaepernick last played in 2016 and became a free agent after opting out of his contract. He filed a grievance against the NFL in Oct. 2017 and claimed league owners colluded to keep him unsigned due to his protest of racial injustice and police brutality.

In case you were wondering, Brian Hoyer is currently Tom Brady’s backup quarterback option for New England. At this point, it seems unlikely that Kaepernick returns to the league.
