Now, The Umbrella Academy -- the comic book series created and written by Way -- will receive the streaming treatment thanks to a fresh adaptation for Netflix, and the first trailer for it dropped on Saturday (Dec. 8).
Set in 1989, The Umbrella Academy follows a group of teens with special powers who grow up in one motley crew of a super-human family after they were adopted as infants by a mysterious, monocle-sporting gentleman, Sir Reginald Hargreeves (played by Colm Feore). Ellen Page stars as Vanya Hargreeves, a.k.a. the White Violin, with Mary J. Blige taking on the role of Cha-Cha.
The trailer features them both and is set to Tiffany's cover of Tommy James and the Shondells' "I Think We're Alone Now," which plays as we learn that Hargreeves' adopted brood is tasked with saving the world from an imminent apocalypse.
The Umbrella Academy hits Netflix on Feb. 15, 2019.
