T.I. Settles Disorderly Conduct Case Against Security Guard With $300 Fine

T.I.'s nagging disorderly conduct case against a security guard in his gated community is finally over.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Tip's lawyer, Steve Sadow, confirmed to Billboard that his client appeared in Georgia court Thursday (Dec. 13), where he pleaded no contest and was ordered to pay just a $300 fine to have the rest of the charges against him dismissed.

"Tip was innocent of all charges and would’ve been found not guilty by a jury at trial. But to put this matter to bed, he agreed to enter a no contest plea to a county ordinance violation of cursing in a public place," Sadow told Billboard via email. "The judge ordered a fine of $300, which was paid immediately. All of the charges in the amended accusation were dismissed. The case is now concluded."

The messy situation began during the wee hours of May 16, when the 38-year-old was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following a heated argument with the security officer working his gated community. The trap pioneer claims that the guard was "sleeping on the job" and cursing at his wife over the phone. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the acting security guard, Euwan James, was eventually fired because of how poorly he handled the altercation.

Back in August, TMZ obtained audio from The Atlanta rapper's arresting officer, who joked once he figured out he'd be dealing with a celebrity at the scene. "He's the rapper? I've never seen him. He thinks his shit don't stink," the cop said with a chuckle. "He wants everyone bowing down to him."

On the music front, earlier this week (Dec. 10), T.I. released the Mike Ho-directed short film for his Dime Trap deep cut "The Amazing Mr. F**k Up," which finds Tip getting introspective about his life's journey throughout the 10-minute clip.

Billboard has reached out to T.I.'s reps for confirmation. View the new video below.
