Paul Potts Delivers Explosive Performance of 'Nessun Dorma' on 'AGT: The Champions'

Paul Potts has been living a fairytale since his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent more than a decade ago.

And if his performance Monday night on America's Got Talent: The Champions is anything to go by, the tenor shouldn’t be crashing back to reality anytime soon.

A one-time mobile phone salesman, Potts’ life changed forever when, in 2007, he stepped onto the Got Talent stage and melted minds with his rendition of "Nessun Dorma". The ultimate underdog, Potts went on to win the title. Today, he’s a household name in his homeland, his unexpected journey immortalized in a feature film, One Chance.

On Monday, Potts returned to where his dream became a reality as he belted out "Nessun Dorma" for NBC’s Final of AGT: The Champions.

He nailed it.

Struggling to find his calm place, judge Howie Mandel remarked, “I’m not an opera fan, I’m a Paul Potts fan. I love what you do, you couldn’t have done any more to make it any better, it was perfection.” Mel B was grateful to have the "best seat" in the house. And Simon Cowell admitted he was “more than moved” by what he saw. “I have a very good feeling you’re going to win tonight after that," he enthused. "It was brilliant.”

Before exiting stage, Potts dedicated his performance to Neal E. Boyd, the late American pop opera singer who won the third season of AGT. ”Like me, he came on as an underdog, he gave his all, he won and one thing you can never take away is the fact he’s a champion,” Potts said. “He is a winner.”

The Champions winner will be revealed next Monday.
