Beyoncé Reportedly Not Handing Over JAY-Z and Tina Knowles Texts in Blue Ivy Trademark Dispute

Beyoncé is reportedly not down for handing over texts between her and husband JAY-Z, as well as mother Tina Knowles, in connection with an ongoing trademark dispute with a wedding planner company owner.

Veronica Morales, the business owner, has reportedly asked for a "list of documents and communications" from Beyoncé showing evidence she planned to utilize a Blue Ivy trademark. According to The Blast, which cited court documents in its update on the dispute Thursday, Beyoncé's team has thus far not handed over said documents. Furthermore, they've asked for a protective order to be in put place that would block Morales—who runs a company named Blue Ivy—from leaking anything confidential.

Back in 2017, Beyoncé sought a trademark for exclusive use of the title, which (of course) is also the name of her and JAY's first child. Morales, whose wedding company name precedes the birth of the couple's daughter, was later reportedly accused by Beyoncé's legal team of trying to sell her business to them for $10 million. The offer was alleged to have included a PowerPoint presentation and plans for pursuing B-assisted merchandising. Morales later denied this.

As announced earlier this week, Beyoncé and JAY-Z will be honored with the Vanguard Award at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards this month. At the time of the announcement, the attendance of the couple had not been confirmed. Previous Vanguard winners include Demi Lovato and Janet Jackson.
