Martin Shkreli already paid millions to purchase one rap album, and now he’s offering a hefty price for another.
The pharmaceutical CEO, who bought the sole copy of of Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million last year, is now willing to put up $10 million for Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo. In a letter posted to Twitter on Thursday night, as ’Ye was premiering the album during a listening session and fashion show at Madison Square Garden, the 32-year-old Shkreli proposed that Kanye “withhold the release” of T.L.O.P. and instead “sell this recording solely to me.”
Unless he wants to end up in a feud with Shkreli like the Wu’s Ghostface Killah, Kanye should probably pass on this opportunity (there are also many, many other reasons he should not do this).
