VINCE STAPLES TALKS NEW ‘PRIMA DONNA’ EP, LEAVING THE STREET LIFE BEHIND & MORE

If you haven’t heard by now, Vince Staples dropped a brand new project titled Prima Donna, and it’s fire!

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

The Long Beach native stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club in efforts to promote his new EP, and to discuss how he got into the street life, his views on it now, helping kids, plus much more.

Throughout the interview, the “Smile” rapper breaks down how his song “War Ready” off Prima Donna was featured on HBO’s Ballers, which turned out to be a big deal for him.

Staples also goes into details describing how he thinks the 90s hip-hop wasn’t the pinnacle of the popularity of hip-hop music for him but that now, it’s at an all time high.

The 23-year-old year then goes more into depth as he talks about his grandfather death, where he states that his grandfather’s passing became the prime example for him to get into the street life that he was in.
