J. Cole Shares Trailer for Second HBO Documentary '4 Your Eyez Only'

J. Cole in the trailer for HBO's 4 Your Eyez Only.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

J. Cole reunites with HBO for his second special 4 Your Eyez Only. Named after his gold album released last December, the documentary's trailer finds the cover art come to life as Cole is seen working a camera while surrounded by people of color in the South speaking their truths.

"I'm going to do it because I can't depend on those people," one woman says. "So many of us are hurting and we're confused and we're angry," adds another.

Shot in multiple locations including Baton Rouge, Atlanta, Ferguson, his native Fayetteville and his father's hometown of Jonesboro, Ark., the Dreamville film -- which follows 2015's Forest Hills Drive homecoming special -- will combine music performances with intimate interviews "documented through Cole’s lens," per a release.

The teaser also features Cole's song "Change," one of the project's ten tracks, which all charted upon the album's release. His fourth studio effort debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with the third largest debut of 2016 after Drake's Views and Beyonce's Lemonade.

4 Your Eyez Only -- executive produced and co-directed by Cole and Scott Lazer as well as Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad and Adam Roy Rodney -- will debut on HBO at 10 p.m. on April 15.
