North Carolina-Born Rapper Offers Ode to Strippers with New Club hit ‘Changed Her Life’

RALEIGH, NC – Kaffi Blak is an artist, songwriter and entrepreneur who is blazing a trail as the hottest new independent musician on the East Coast.

Kaffi Blak has set a foundation on his journey by creating a unique blend of Caribbean and American musical vibes. And his new single, “Changed Her Life,” is the perfect display of that unique sound and style.

Kaffi Blak grew up around Jamaican family members and learned to love Jamaican songs. But as he grew up, he fell in love with hip-hop. The more he studied music, the more he wanted it to become his life’s purpose. He traces his humble beginnings to his friend, who used to DJ in the basement. As he listened to his friend create beats, Kaffi Blak began writing songs that he would then go on to perform for some local crowds.

“When I was in middle school, I used to bee-bop on the table with my friend at lunch,” he said. “It just kind of took off from there. I always loved music, and I’ve learned that good music is all about dedication. You have to be dedicated to do this. Every step you take has to be on point. I’m real serious about that, and I think that’s why I get the reaction that I get from people who hear my songs. I like to make people feel important with my music. That gives you power, and I love the exploration that comes with discovering so many different ways a song can sound before you find the perfect thing and finish it.”

For “Changed Her Life,” Kaffi said he was inspired by many strip club ladies he’s seen over the years who are disrespected for what they do. His dance hall mixed with rap single is almost homage to the struggle that those women go through to make money, he said.

“It’s about a girl working at a department store who had never danced before in her life, and now she dances,” he said. “She always said she would never dance for money, and then one night she does it and earns $20,000 in one night and it changes her life. She’s so happy that she started to dance now, and it shows because she’s using her money to travel the world and buy designer clothes. You have to be one of those top class guys just to get with her because she’s on the level now. It’s a story, which is different for a strip club song. But I did it because I wanted to give a shout-out to all the strippers, and to call out all the people who look down on them. It’s a hot-fire song.”

The single is currently available on all digital distribution sites. To listen to Kaffi Blak’s music or to follow him on social media, please visit:
