Singer, songwriter, and performer, Devon Paige, delivers your next summer sizzler with latest single, “Love and Dreams.” Written by Esjay Jones and produced by Trey Vittatoe, the new single is an energetic pop song reminiscent of Katy Perry and Sia, two artists that Devon Paige admires. “I really wanted to do a single that was upbeat and fun and happy, a love song,” says Devon of the inspiration behind her hit song. “I wanted to create something that people could listen to, especially if they’re feeling down about anything—a song to perk you up a little bit.” Thus, “Love and Dreams,” was born into a fun, catchy song for listeners to enjoy.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based singer began her career at an early age, acting in professional music theatre and training with a nationally recognized vocal coach. As a young adult, Devon decided to shift gears from the arts to corporate America, where she remembered that her passion was in music. Spurred by the loss of her father, and later her grandmother, Devon realized life is too short not to live her dream, and she quickly pivoted back to a life of music.
Devon Paige creates moving music with a purpose. “Whether it’s moving in a positive way or just your emotions, I want my music to resonate with people,” expresses the artist. “I want people to hear it and think, ‘I’ve gone through that.’” Devon is no stranger to difficulties and loss, but she wants to remind fans that “there’s always going to be something negative in life, but we need to try to find the happy things.”
When she sits down to write, Devon likes to create a concept or vibe in her head first. “I want my songs to be relatable, so I pull on my experiences and everyone else’s that I feel as an empath,” she explains. “I feel other people’s emotions, which makes it easier when I’m writing to feel their pain, sorrow, and happiness.” Once she outlines the idea of the song, she’ll write the rest on her own and then collaborate with a producer for the final product.
“My favorite is when people say the song is stuck in their head,” tells Devon of feedback to her single. “We’re getting really good feedback. I’m also proud of my family’s reaction. My husband Ben streams my song nonstop. He’s amazing and so supportive and wants this as much as I do,” tells Devon. It turns out she really can whip together a relatable song, especially when it pertains to love.
