BROCKHAMPTON Shares Frantic '1998 Truman' Video: Watch

Kevin Abstract looks to be delivering on his promise to fans of "new music all summer."

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Following the release of "1999 Wildfire" earlier in July (July 6), BROCKHAMPTON returned with the frenzied "1998 Truman" video on Thursday (July 19). The manic track premiered at the end of the crew's second Beats 1 episode of Things We Lost in the Fire.

The visual finds Abstract behind the camera directing the uncanny clip, as fans get a peek into his seamless creative ability. "1998 Truman" kicks off with a recording from '50s religious cult leader, Jim Jones, who often preached anti-government messages to the public.

Matt Champion picks up the pace for the tune's second verse, referencing the mysterious death of model Anna Nicole Smith and points out the group's quick rise to mainstream fame. "And they try to kill me like Anna Nicole/ They want the boot of my car/ Pussy boy like booty call/ Money quick like auctioneer/ Look what we did in a year," he raps creepily surrounded by dolls.

It's still unknown if the recently released tracks will appear on BROCKHAMPTON's newly announced THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES forthcoming album. The hip-hop boy band scrapped plans for their Puppy project, which was supposed to drop in June but was put on hold to regroup after kicking former member Ameer Vann out of the hip-hop collective amid sexual misconduct allegations.
