Miles Kane has recalled words of wisdom he received from Paul Weller.
Kane, who along with Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner is preparing to release The Last Shadow Puppets' second album, recently told the story in an interview with Q.
Kane said: "Paul Weller said to me his 30s was the best time of his life. So, yeah, bring them on. I can’t wait. I’m going to be shagging!"
The musician, who turns 30 in March, added with emphasis: "Shagging, lad! Shagging this and shagging that! Shagging the teacups! I’m gonna shag that tree later!"
In the same interview, Kane explained why he decided against joining Arctic Monkeys ten years ago.
Asked whether Kane ever came close to joining Alex Turner's band when the Sheffield band replaced former bassist Andy Nicholson in 2006, Turner replied: "Well... no. I think because that was when [Kane] just started [short-lived band] The Rascals. That was just all happening as well".
Kane attributed his decision to never join the Monkeys as his desire to be in the lime light. He is quoted as saying: "I really wanted to be a frontman at that time. I hadn’t been a frontman. I had a hard-on for that."
