Usher Explains Why He Was Smiling So Much in This Baby Photo

Usher stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden on Wednesday (March 4), when the host pulled out the cutest family photo of a six-year-old Usher and his baby brother.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

"Some important facts about this photo," the crooner began, referring to his ear-to-ear smile in the snap and his brother's pout while dressed in a Santa hat and sailor shirt. "My mother would only put us in shorts as kids, this was the thing. I mean, she put [his brother] in a sailor’s outfit."

"She wouldn’t allow us to wear full pants until like six years old," he continued. "So this is the first time I ever wore slacks in a photo, and look at how I’m holding my jacket like, ‘Look, I made it!’"

Corden went on to observe that this was around the age when Usher knew he was going to be a star, to which the singer agreed. When asked how he knew, Usher replied, "If you don't believe it, no one else will," which was met by cheers from the audience.

Usher and actress Alison Pill then stepped outside to meet LA Galaxy striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, and took part in a dunk tank challenge in which they kicked a soccer ball in an attempt to hit the target and send Corden into "freezing cold" water.
