On Friday (April 12), the Philly rapper performed an explosive evening set at the events main stage and even turned heads by selling merchandise that read THEMINEM a play on their pronouns built off Eminems name.

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Lil Uzi Vert took the stage on the opening night of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and set aside a moment during their set to open up to their audience.

On Friday (April 12), the Philly rapper performed an explosive evening set at the event’s main stage and even turned heads by selling merchandise that read “THEMINEM” — a play on their pronouns built off Eminem‘s name.

During the show, they paused the music and addressed the audience with a heartfelt “secret.”

“I’ve been holding this in for a very long time,” they began. “I’m pretty sure a lot of you already knew this about me.”

The big reveal turned out to be not exactly surprising: “But what I want to tell ya’ll tonight is I love y’all, and I hope no matter what, ya’ll love me the same way I love y’all.”

As for the remaining two days of this week’s gathering, Tyler, The Creator has shared some concerns about his headlining set, as it begins long after he usually goes to bed. Earlier this week, the Los Angeles native took to his Instagram Stories to express his qualms about being scheduled to take the main stage at 11:40 pm.

“dawg I’m sleep by 10 every night this is fucked,” he wrote. “I will take a nap on stage. No lie tho its a task to stay up late for me man im an early bird.”

Beside staying up past his bed time, the California rapper seems to be looking forward to his upcoming performances. He even issued a request to fans to ensure that they stay in the moment when they attend his show.

Via a billboard near the festival grounds last week, he shared a message that read: “I would love to see y’all faces and not your phone lights.”

The 33-year-old is no stranger to the Coachella stage, having previously performed at the annual festival in 2015 and 2018 following the releases of his Cherry Bomb and Flower Boy albums, respectively.

Back in 2011, he also performed at the event as member of Odd Future. Though the group were kicked out after spraying security guards with water guns, the “See You Again” hitmaker managed to get back in to watch Lil B perform.

Headlining Coachella 2024 alongside Tyler are Doja Cat and Lana Del Rey.
