A college in Glasgow is now offering a course for parents and plus ones of Taylor Swift fans to get “up to speed” on their knowledge of the artist before she comes to the UK in June.
Altogether, 219,000 fans will descend on Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh to across three nights to see the ‘Eras’ tour. The crowd numbers are expected to beat Harry Styles’ record in 2023 for the biggest show in Scotland.
The one-off 90-minute course, which will be delivered by Glasgow Clyde College (GCC), teaches parents and plus ones about Swift’s back catalogue, the setlist, her wardrobe and hairstyles and even the crowd chants.
“Taylor mania doesn’t seem to be slowing any time soon, and we expect it’ll reach its peak here in Scotland in June,” said Robert Anderson, curriculum assistant principal at GCC [via The Independent].
“We understand that not everyone will be up to speed on all things Taylor and might not get the full Eras experience.
“That’s why we created this masterclass – to prepare those who’ll be heading along to the gig with their superfan kids, friends or partners to ensure they have just as memorable a time.
“Taylor’s gigs are known for being so well crafted, and unless you’re a fan yourself, you might miss some of the iconic moments.
“Our expert will take you through everything you need to know – leaving you a Swiftie in no time.”

Meanwhile, Swift has shared a video from rehearsals for the ‘Eras Tour’ – fuelling speculation that her new album could be added to the setlist. The European and UK/Ireland leg is scheduled to begin in Paris on May 9.
This summer will see Swift bring her career-spanning spectacle to Wembley Stadium in London, where she’ll play eight sold-out concerts with Paramore.
Meanwhile, Swift celebrated the ongoing success of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ by sharing a series of photographs of her with collaborators Post Malone and Florence Welch. The new album debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 2.6million units in America.
“My mind is blown. I’m completely floored by the love you’ve shown this album,” she began in the caption. “2.6million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life. Feeling completely overwhelmed.”
Previously, it was confirmed that the LP delivered the UK’s biggest opening week in seven years, and managed to break Spotify’s record for most-streamed album in a day with 300million streams.
In a three-star review of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, NME said: “Swift seems to be in tireless pursuit for superstardom, yet the negative public opinion it can come with irks her, and it’s a tired theme now plaguing her discography and leaving little room for the poignant lyrical observations she excels at.
“It’s why the pitfalls that mire her 11th studio album are all the more disappointing — she’s proven time and time again she can do better. To a Melbourne audience of her ‘Eras Tour’, Swift said that ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ came from a “need” to write. It’s just that maybe we didn’t need to hear it.”
