Nation of Language Announce New Album, Share Video for New Song Watch

Dance Called Memory, the followup to 2023s Strange Disciple, comes out in September

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Nation of Language have announced a new album. Dance Called Memory is out September 19 via Sub Pop, marking their debut LP on the label and their fourth overall studio full-length. Nation of Language have also shared the new song “I’m Not Ready for the Change,” and it comes with a John MacKay–directed music video. Check it out below.

To create Dance Called Memory, Nation of Language reunited with producer Nick Millhiser, who worked on 2023’s Strange Disciple. The Brooklyn artists Ian Richard Devaney, Aidan Noell, and Alex MacKay shared the album’s “Inept Apollo” last month while breaking the news of their signing to Sub Pop.

Nation of Language have also added a few more stops to their upcoming tour of North America and Europe. After supporting Death Cab for Cutie at the Seattle and Chicago stops of their Plans anniversary tour, Nation of Language will then embark on an extensive headlining run that lasts through the autumn. Find all of the group’s tour dates below.
