Just in time for summer, musician and rapper, Riff Raff, gifts us a chill synth-wave single to welcome the good times ahead. Roll down your window and crank up the sound: “I Want a Ferrari” will be playing on your drive all summer long.

Equal parts catchy and relaxing, the fresh track is a “good weather, good vibes” song featuring the musical talents of Wiz Khalifa. “The single came about when me and my producer were flipping through beats,” shares Riff Raff. “I just got a Ferrari delivered to my house, so I came up with the song on the spot. When I shared a clip of it, everyone wanted to hear the song. At the last second, I sent it to Wiz because I thought he’d sound great on it. It all just happened quickly.”

By the time listeners get through the chorus, they won’t be able to get the single out of their head. The good news is that an accompanying video is coming out May 16. Filmed over a five-day shoot in Florida, the video brings to life the chill vibes of the original song, with Wiz Khalifa making a noteworthy appearance.

“This is the final song of the Cherry Chupacabra album. We were releasing one song per week off the album and this is it—the final release. Everyone was waiting for it—I haven’t seen this kind of online attention.” Fortunately, “I Want a Ferrari” isn’t a one-and-done deal. A remix is in the works that is inspired by EDM and techno/dance and sure to please the TikTok music world.

Renowned for his contributions to hip hop, Riff Raff is a multicultural, all-American recording artist with undeniable talent in both freestyle and creative word play. He plays with a new sound in his latest single, which is unpredictably futuristic. Riff Raff’s music doesn’t fall within a single genre—he’s always had an authentic sound of his own. His cross-genre exploration is evident in synth undertones of his newest single, which is far from traditional R&B. “I’m not conforming to what I hear,” tells the artist. “I make the music I like to make and like to listen to. My music is the voice of what I enjoy making.”

Hailing from Texas, Riff Raff—otherwise known as Jody Highroller and Dale Dan Tony—came on the scene in 2013 with his first album, NEON iCON, under Diplo’s music label, Mad Decent. The album featured the Gold-selling, worldwide hit single “Tip Toein’ In My Jawdinz,” and “Dolce & Gabbana.” And that was only the beginning. Since his debut album, Riff Raff has collaborated with countless world-class talent including Snoop Dogg, Mac Miller, Childish Gambino, Katy Perry, and Lil Durk. “Music is in my blood,” shares Riff Raff. “I’m not a rapper. I’m a musician. Rap, pop, country… it all makes sense.”

In addition to a remix and video for “I Want a Ferrari,” Riff Raff has major projects in the lineup over the coming months. From brand deals—in partnership with Loud Brew coffee—to developing his own shoe line, Riff Raff isn’t taking a step away from music—he’s enhancing his skills to produce more creative work. “Music is always in the background while I’m doing other things,” shares Riff Raff.
