Tee Grizzley has remained one of Detroit hip hop’s biggest voices for several years, carrying the city’s signature sound into every release. His latest song, “Back Ina Yams,” may feel familiar to longtime listeners and critics, but his humorous lyrics, commanding presence, and natural charisma keep the approach entertaining. Over dramatic piano keys and hard hitting percussion, Grizzley moves between different flows with plenty of intensity. He will bring more of that energy to his upcoming album They Forgot, which arrives on September 25. Hopefully, the full project delivers even stronger records for fans to enjoy.

I know a n***a doing life in jail, he shot more s**t than Steph,
He different now, n***a call me, sounding just like Malcolm X,
He ain't even violent no more, he used to say killing was better than sex,
He just got a tattoo on his arm, it say doing life is worse than death
