Ed Sheeran’s world tour will include a lap of Australia and New Zealand.
The English singer and songwriter will return to familiar turf when his Divideworld tour heads south next March for seven stadium concerts.
Early Wednesday, Sheeran announced the itinerary for his 2018 Australasian jaunt which will kick off March 3 at Perth Stadium, before heading east for dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. The pop star and his entourage then skip across the Tasman to New Zealand where he’ll perform a single show in the North Island (Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium) and in the South Island (Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin).
Michael Gudinski’s Frontier Touring will present the 2018 tour, Sheeran’s first in these parts since late 2015 when he played stadiums with only his loop pedal and favorite guitars as support. The upcoming shows will mark the fifth time the independent concert promoter has produced Sheeran’s Australasian treks dating back to a July-August run in 2012.
The general ticket on sale starts from May 23.

Tickets should fly. Sheeran has been in record-smashing form in Australia with his latest album Divide, and the singles released from it. He became the first artist to have simultaneous debuts at No. 1 and No. 2 with “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill” (Atlantic/Warner), and “Shape” managed a 15-week streak at No. 1 on Australia’s singles survey, shattering the previous mark of 13 weeks set by Coolio’s "Gangsta’s Paradise” in 1995.
Sheeran’s third album ruled the ARIA Albums Chart for eight weeks (it’s at No. 2 this week) and is triple-platinum certified. After release, all 16 Divide tracks charted simultaneously inside the top 40, also a new record.
