Exclusive Interview with WoozyWhiteboy

Upcoming 100: What inspired you to start making music, and what drove you to pursue it as a career?

WoozyWhiteboy: Most of my inspiration comes from 90s hip hop and the artists who we're part of that era such as Nas, Tupac, Biggie, DMX, Wu Tang Clan, Outkast, Geto Boys, Eminem. The list goes on... When I started makin music it was only for fun. I Never would have thought in a million years i would be at the level i'm at right now. Alot of people used to downplay my dreams by telling me to give up and i cant do it or i wont make it in music. That just gave me drive and hunger to want it even more.

Upcoming 100: Can you tell us about your songwriting process? How do you come up with ideas, and what inspires your lyrics?

WoozyWhiteboy: When i write songs it's about the things i've done or have seen throughout my life. Real life struggles. For the most part I try to make songs that everyone can listen and relate to by using a wide variety of topics.

Upcoming 100: What do you think sets your music apart from others in your genre?

WoozyWhiteboy: What sets my music apart from all the others? Everything! My music speaks for itself. Check me out and you will be able to answer that question for yourself.

Upcoming 100: What's the story behind your latest release/album/single? What inspired you to create it?

WoozyWhiteboy: "Chasin A Bag" is about getting money and its featuring Project Pat from the legendary memphis rap group Three Six Mafia. I had been choppin it up with Pat for awhile talking about collaborating on a song together. We finally made it happen and the song has been pretty successful.

Upcoming 100: How do you approach your live performances? Do you have any rituals or pre-show routines that help you get ready?

WoozyWhiteboy: No pre show rituals or anything like that. I was built for this, so whether its 200 or 200,000 people in the audience, it doesnt matter. I know how to move a crowd and get people on their feet so my stage presence and performances have always been solid.

Upcoming 100: What do you hope fans take away from your music? Is there a message or theme that you're trying to convey?

WoozyWhiteboy: I talk life lessons all throughout my music. The audience should be able to grab something from at least one of my songs and relate to it.

Upcoming 100: How do you balance your creative pursuits with other aspects of your life, such as personal relationships or business responsibilities?

WoozyWhiteboy: I'm single and im a full time musician/producer. I quit my regular job about a year ago and fully committed to making music full time. I pay my bills and live comfortably by doing what i love.

Upcoming 100: Can you tell us about some of your favorite songs or albums that you've worked on? What made them special to you?

WoozyWhiteboy: Since 2018, I have released 7 albums and who knows how many singles. I feel like with every new release i continue to get better. Both of my last two albums (Cadillac Trap Tunes vol. 1 & 2) we're released January 2024 & November 2024. I have to say those two have to be my favorite.

Upcoming 100: What are some of the biggest challenges you've faced as a musician, and how have you overcome them?

WoozyWhiteboy: To me the hardest thing in music is building an authentic following/fan base and the business side of things is the worst sometimes. With everyone in the digital/streaming age, things get to be a little hectic. Alot of scams out there. Fake record labels. Streaming bots. Marketing campaigns etc etc.

Upcoming 100: How do you stay inspired and motivated to continue creating music? Do you have any specific habits or routines that help keep your creative juices flowing?

WoozyWhiteboy: Its hard. I do get writers block like everyone else. When that happens i'll make an instrumental or mix and master some unfinished tracks. There is always something to do as an artist/producer. The work is never done.

Upcoming 100: What's next for you in terms of new music or projects? Can you give us a sneak peek into what's coming up?

WoozyWhiteboy: Im releasing a new mixtape and two new albums in 2025. No album titles just yet, but they are in the works. Stay tuned! Stay updated by following me on all streaming and social media platforms.
