Delta Goodrem to Host 2020 ARIA Awards

Delta Goodrem will host next week’s 2020 ARIA Awards, organizers announced Monday (Nov. 16).

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

It’s a first for the hitmaking pop star, who has achieved almost every other honor the Australian music industry has to offer.

Over her career, Goodrem has snagged 12 ARIAs, nine No. 1 singles and four No. 1 albums, including Innocent Eyes, recognized as the second best-selling LP by an Australian artist of all-time, behind only John Farnham’s Whispering Jack.

Innocent Eyes spent a whopping 29 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart following its release in 2003.

The Sydney-based singer is the longest serving coach on The Voice Australia, at nine seasons, and she recently celebrated 150 episodes on the Nine Network’s talent quest.

"I am beyond honored to be hosting the 2020 ARIA Awards bringing to people’s homes the music that has meant so much to them this year,” comments Goodrem in a statement.

“The Australian music industry has had a year unlike any other we have ever faced before, and I am so looking forward to celebrating with you all – albeit remotely, as we come together to recognize and celebrate how talented this industry is to a global audience.”

Heading into its 34th edition, the ARIA Awards will take place at its regular spot at The Star Event Centre in Sydney.

Performers on the night include Sia, Tame Impala, Lime Cordiale, Sampa The Great, Amy Shark and Archie Roach, who will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

YouTube will stream performances online through an ongoing partnership, and free-to-air broadcaster Nine Network will beam the show across Australia.
