Pixies Reveal Remastered Reissue of Complete BSides 198897

The original 2001 tracklist spans three sides of vinyl and, for the first time, the record will also feature a fourth side of bonus live tracks

When up-and-coming cartoonist Keef Knight has a traumatic run-in with the police, he begins to see the world in an entirely new way.

Pixies have announced that Complete B-Sides: 1988-97 will finally be released on vinyl for the very first time, with all tracks newly remastered.

The announcement arrives as the Boston indie legends celebrate their 40th anniversary, following news of a 2026 UK and European tour alongside several festival appearances lined up for this summer.

The band have now officially confirmed a reissue of ‘Complete B-Sides: 1988-97’, arriving 25 years after the compilation was originally released.

The collection first came out on CD in 2001 and featured 19 B-sides from the band’s iconic 4AD era between 1988 and 1991. The release included songs such as Wave Of Mutilation (UK Surf), Into The White, Bailey’s Walk and The Thing, and originally arrived while the band were deep into their hiatus period.

The remastered anniversary edition is scheduled for release on June 26. Alongside a double CD edition, the collection will also be available on vinyl for the first time ever.

The original tracklist filled three sides of vinyl, while the new edition adds a fourth side featuring bonus live recordings. Those extra tracks include six songs pulled from later Pixies single releases, including material connected to the 1997 re-release of Debaser. Fans can pre-order the release now.The new release also arrives as a companion piece to the recently reissued Live At The BBC collection. For that project, designer Chris Bigg created updated cover artwork using previously unreleased archive photos of Black Francis and the band taken by photographer Simon Larbalestier.

As part of their upcoming UK performances, Pixies are set to play a major outdoor headline show at On The Mount at Wasing next month. Their festival schedule also includes appearances at Bearded Theory 2026, NOS Alive 2026 and the 10th anniversary edition of Mad Cool Festival 2026.

The band’s most recent studio album, The Night The Zombies Came, was released in 2024. Speaking with NME around that time, the group discussed the idea of performing more classic albums in full during future tours after revisiting Trompe le Monde and Bossanova live.

“As a fan, I love those things,” said Joey Santiago. “We went to ‘Aja’, the Steely Dan show. It’s incredible knowing that it’s going to be all of ‘Aja’ and right behind me were all the drummers – Danny Carey from Tool, Josh Freese, Pat Wilson were all behind me watching it.

“I’m just saying Steely Dan’s cool…The only thing about doing it in order is that Charles and I have to switch guitars. So there’s a lot of that going on, so it disrupts the show a little bit. But we like doing it.”
